On September 14th, 2023 I did a brief New Moon ritual at the correct time, then went to Lumen Field to work overnight as a stagehand dismantling the lighting system at the Beyoncé concert. It was great! Very hard, fast paced work with lots of heavy lifting. I enjoyed myself immensely. I came home around 6am, slept a few hours and ran to the studio to create this album as a conclusion to my magical ritual, this is some of my best piano work to date. There is also a bass clarinet song dedicated to brother Charles Gayle who left us recently.
